Grade 6: Perimeter and Area of the square worksheet

In mathematics, the perimeter and Area of a square are topics we usually find in the geometry section. In geometry, the perimeter and Area of a square are also found in many objective class tests. Today, we will discuss the perimeter and Area of a square. In the last section, we will provide you with the perimeter and Area of the square worksheet. By doing the worksheet, you will understand the topic more broadly.

The perimeter of a square for grade 6:

In simple words perimeter of a square is the addition of all given sides of a square. For a square, you also can simply multiply the given side of a square by 4. Let’s be clear with an example.

Find the perimeter of a square whose one side is 11cm.

All sides or edges of a square are known to be equal. So if one given side is 11 cm, the rest of the three sides will also be 11 cm.  so the perimeter of a square whose one side is 11 cm will be as follows:

11+11+11+11= 44cm

Or

4x 11= 44cm.

Determine the Area of a square for grade 6:

The term “area” refers to the space possessed by an object. For grade 6, determine the Area of a square by multiplying a given side of a square with itself. Let’s be clear with an example.

Find the Area of a square whose one side is 3 cm.

Determine the Area of a square whose one is 3 cm. Just multiply 3 with itself, as shown below.

3x3= 9cm

Thus, the Area of a square having one side of 3 cm will be 9 cm.
